Wolf Creek :: November 29th, 2005

A movie not for the faint-hearted or the weak-stomached.

Don’t see this movie if you are planning on travelling through outback Australia.

I wonder if it will affect the tourism industry……

Joshy Hagar :: November 25th, 2005

I am so damn proud of my husband!

He doesn’t sing, and has certainly never sung a solo in public before. Yet last night, in front of a pub full of people, he took part in a karaoke competition! He sang “Why Can’t This Be Love” by Van Halen, one of my favourite songs of all time. He was very scared and nervous but he stayed up there right through the song.

Joshy, I am your #1 fan and groupie! You are spunkier than Sammy Hagar :grin:

Dear Neighbours-Up-The-Back :: November 20th, 2005

It’s fun having overnight guests, isn’t it? There’s always so much to talk and laugh about and catch up on. But perhaps next time you could refrain from having a very long and loud conversation on your back verandah at 5:45am on a Sunday morning? kthx.

The Christmas Party :: November 9th, 2005

So Josh’s work Christmas Party was great! He works with some really cool people who are also funny and friendly and easy to get along with. For entertainment, we had a band called Karisma - technically, three Kiwi guys singing to instrumental tracks, but they were really good. The meal was delicious, and Josh took full advantage of the open bar by consuming about 10 Rum & Coke’s in a four-hour period. I had a bit of a dance, saw and chatted to a couple of old friends, made some new ones, and generally had a fantastic time. Every time I found myself alone with one of Josh’s workmates, I was told what a great person he was and how everyone loved him. It seems he is the nice guy in the office who everyone likes!

After the party, we decided to meet up with a couple of Josh’s colleagues at a club in town. We walked in order to save money on a cab, which turned out to be a bad idea because I am not used to wearing heels and it decided to storm. We went to about four different clubs in search of these girls but they were nowhere to be found! Still, it was fun walking around town hand-in-hand with my tipsy husband, dodging the rain and flinching at the monstrously loud cracks of thunder.

We’ve both decided we need to be social more often. We hang out a lot, and do things as a couple, but we want to spend more time with our friends actually doing stuff. We’ve got a few ideas which hopefully will pan out over the next couple of months if we can get other people interested, too. I’m keen to get to know a few of the people I met the other night. I usually suck at making new friends because I tend to be such a homebody, but I’m determined to make more of an effort.

The Update - At Last! :: November 3rd, 2005

Yes, I know in a recent entry I promised I would update “tomorrow”. But since tomorrow is still tomorrow, technically I didn’t break my promise. That’s my twisted logic and I’m sticking to it.

Where to begin?…..
