* sung to the tune of the Friday Night Football jingle

I’ve been a domestic little kitten this evening.

I cooked home-made chicken schnitzel with creamy mashed potatoes and peas & corn for dinner.
I folded and put away a bazillion loads of clean washing.
I washed some clothes and they’re now in the dryer.
I tidied the house.
I took the garbage out.
I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen.
And I even cleaned out the fish tank.

Now while I wait for the dryer to finish I’m going to get a headstart on work for tomorrow.

Josh came home from work today with the top for an outfit I have my eye on.
Best. Husband. Ever.

Because Darcy is turning 10, and I don’t want him to.

Why can’t cats live longer lives?

:cry:

After an entire day of procrastination, it only took me half an hour to write the darn thing.

Mind you, it was only an 800-word biography of Stephen King, but still - I rule!

« Poor Mr Darcy :: March 27th, 2006

Today I was telling my mother-in-law about how I’ve started letting Darcy out for short sessions in the garden again because he doesn’t stay out long, doesn’t go far, and doesn’t get into fights anymore.

About half an hour later he made a liar out of me and came in a bit worse for wear after a scuffle with one of the neighbourhood cats.

The wounds themselves aren’t too bad - two long but not very deep scratches across his head, and a bite near the ear that didn’t quite break the skin. But he’s feeling rather sore and sorry for himself and has been sleeping for the majority of the afternoon and evening.

I will of course be keeping an eye on the cuts, bathing them in salty water and looking out for any symptoms of infection. But I’m more worried about his resilience not being what it used to. I shouldn’t be surprised - he turns 10 next Saturday - but any time he shows any signs of ageing it makes me so sad.

I don’t want my baby to get old and die :(

« Linkage :: March 27th, 2006

I’ve finally updated the links in my left-hand menu! Some of those I had listed have stopped blogging - temporarily, I hope - and so I’ve temporarily deleted them. I’ve also added some new links for some blogs I’ve been reading for quite some time.

So please welcome Mandy, Nikki-Ann, Graeme, Nick and Melissa to my links column! Visit them, say hello and tell them I sent you :grin:

And while you’re at it, drop in on Josh, Rebecca, Lobster and Nine and spread the love :razz:
