Right folks - now that I’m unemployed, I’ve decided to spend more time on my Internet money-making ventures!

I’m a member of a number of programs/websites whereby you earn money, points, prizes, rewards, raffle entries and the like by performing various activities - mostly clicking on links, reading ads and taking surveys, all of which you can complete whilst going about your normal Internet tasks.

I don’t make a living from this, but the extra cash does come in handy, and I’ve been able to trade my points in for some awesome merchandise, eg. CD’s, Emily Strange gear, and even a Monkey Magic car air freshener.

Sorry I’ve been so quiet. I’ve been processing the events of the past week and trying to make some decisions about what to do next.

I tend to withdraw when I’ve got a lot on my mind, but not in an unhealthy way. I just prefer to take some time and space to consider my options, and I bounce my thoughts off Josh - he’s my personal sounding board.

I’ve made no firm choices yet but I have a fair idea what path I might take, and I’ll share it with you all when I’m more certain!

But for now, I am being beckoned by a coffee, the couch, and a book… and I think a nap is also calling my name

I’ve just lost my job.

Apparantly, the company I contract for is in a slow period, and they’ve decided to stop outsourcing their data entry and do it in-house instead.

Today Josh and I went to the cinema and saw Eight Below.

I fell in love with Gypsie all over again. It also made the both of us incredibly clucky for another husky! This couldn’t come at a worse time, because in a couple of weeks we are taking Gypsie to visit her breeder, and their latest litter will be about 5 weeks old…. Must.Be.Strong.

It was such a great film. I’m not normally a fan of Disney movies, but this was awesome. I’m probably extremely biased, being a husky owner and loving every minute of their quirks and personalities. I saw so many parallels between the huskies on-screen and our own - Josh and I kept saying “That’s Gypsie!” all the way through. I also cried all the way through, but hey, I couldn’t help it - waaaaaaaaaay too much cuteness.

I do hope, however, that this doesn’t inspire a mad rush to own huskies, as did Snow Dogs, and like 101 Dalmatians did for that breed. So if you or anyone you know is considering a husky, PLEASE do your research first! This site is an excellent start. Huskies dig, escape, shed, chew and talk - and that’s on a good day. Not a dog for the fainthearted, impatient, or time-restricted.

Yet I wouldn’t swap our Gypsie for all the loose husky fur in the world.

This morning, Darcy spent ages playing with a piece of lettuce I dropped on the kitchen floor.

He was batting it across the kitchen, flinging it across the room, hiding around the corner then bouncing out and pouncing on it - he was so adorable!

This is why, although he is 10 years old, I’ll never stop thinking of him as my little kitten

FAME is on tv tonight, 11pm on Channel 7 - w00t!

Would you believe, Josh has NEVER seen the movie OR any of the television series. That means I’m just going to have to tape it and force him to watch it, hehehe.
