Nickelback rock!

There were fireworks. And flames. And explosions. And fire. And it was scary. And there were wolves!

(Actually, it wasn’t scary, and there weren’t any wolves, that was just dramatic effect).

I had an awesome time at the concert last night. We were in the front right section right in front of the stage. We stood at the back against the barrier so I wouldn’t get squished, but that was good because it meant I had a clear view of the stage the entire time. Chad Kroger is rather nice to look at (but not as nice as my husband, who looked extremely HOT in his new Nickelback shirt this morning). The crowd were really well behaved so I was able to enjoy myself without worrying about getting trampled or pushed around.

Nickelback are brilliant live! The drum solo rocked! Chad likes to say the F-word a lot! And he came out and did the encore with his fly down and only realised half way through, haha!

The support act were a Brisbane band called Small Mercies and they were fabulous. We’re going to buy their CD. Check them out!

My favourite bit of the night - during “Photograph”, they were playing a slideshow of some of the bands’ happy snaps on the big screens, and one of the pictures was of Chad with SAMMY HAGAR (who looked rather old and pot-bellied, but Sammy I’ll love you no matter how wrinkled you get, xxxxx).

After the concert, it took us nearly an hour to get out of the carpark, so I sat in the car and did some knitting. Josh called me a geek, but I bet I was the only person knitting in the BEC carpark after the Nickelback concert, so go me.

Got home at about 1:30am and poor Joshy had to get up and be at work by 8am. But it’s his second last day of work before his annual leave - yays!

So now my ears are ringing and my throat feels raw and I have a headache and I’m tired but it was all worth it.

I’m in our local newspaper today! The picture is tiny, but it’s in COLOUR. w00t!

Yesterday afternoon I watched my veterinary surgeon and family friend, Bob Doneley, have his hair and looooooong beard shaved off for the Leukaemia Foundation’s Shave For A Cure. A journalist and photographer from The Chronicle were there, and they did a few quick “man-on-the-street” type interviews, and picked me as one of the interviewees.

As soon as Josh gets home this afternoon with some copies of the paper, I’ll scan it so you can all see me in my full-colour glory!
