That’s me today. Well, my feet anyway, and occasionally my hands. Darn pregnancy fluid retention combined with heat. It’s not a good look - Hobbit feet and sausage fingers. Blah.
It can also be a sign of high BP but I don’t have any other symptoms, and the swelling goes away as soon as I go in the cool and put my feet up, so I’m not too concerned. I have an OB appointment first thing Tuesday anyway.
Josh rigged up the portable air conditioner in the bedroom today so it’s blessedly cool in here now, and I’ve got my feet elevated on a pillow and an icepack. I’ve tried not to worry about housework and stuff, but I feel quite well otherwise, so I’ve been getting up every hour to do 5 minutes or so of something. Amazing how many little jobs only take a few minutes.
Went to a Christmas Cocktail party last night for Josh’s sales team at work, which was fun. There was non-alcoholic fruit punch for myself and another pregnant lass, and they also made special non-alcoholic cocktails for us which were delicious. Lots of tasty finger food and good conversation, though it was often about my belly/pregnancy/forthcoming journey into motherhood, as people were curious. I didn’t mind. It’s kind of hard to not focus on the fact I’m pregnant with such a big belly!
I also enjoyed watching people get drunk, and eye-rolling at the antics of one of Josh’s colleagues who is particularly….. how can I say this nicely?….. ditzy. This included her spilling a whole tray of freshly made milk-based cocktails over two girls in black dresses, and wondering why the liquid wouldn’t come out of a sealed juice bottle.
I still need to post my 32 week belly picture, and get Josh to take full-length photos of me. I’ll try to do that later in the week. Tomorrow we have a plumber coming to see to the outside tap that wouldn’t turn off without great force from Josh and a wrench, followed by grocery shopping; then Tuesday is the doctor, a few errands, and our Bible Study break-up dinner.
But for now, ciao!

With 8 weeks and a couple of days until this baby is due, I thought it was time to have a little competition!
To enter, you need to guess the date and time the baby will be born, what gender it will be, as well as it’s weight and length (in kg/lbs or cm/inches, whatever is easiest for you). Whoever gets closest to the correct answers in the most categories will be the winner.
What will you win? That I haven’t decided! But you will get a prize via snail mail - once I’m home and have recovered a bit.
To enter, leave a comment like this:
Date of birth:
Time of birth:
Gender:
Weight:
Length:
with your answers filled in, anytime before the baby decides to pop out!
All is well, by the way. Had another appointment this morning and the baby has decided to be good and turn upside down! My blood pressure is still perfect. The doctor says it is growing into quite a good sized baby for someone as tiny as me - looks like I may have a chubster growing in there. Would explain why I’m still gaining 1/2 - 1 kg a week - I’m 58kg now and it’s pretty much all belly.
32 week belly pic update on Friday. Until then, I love you all - mwah xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox
