Sunday afternoon. The lawn is freshly mowed. We have had haircuts and showers and feel clean and new.
The house is tidy, the dishes done, the washing flapping on the line in the warm breeze.
The dog rests in the shade. The canary twitters quietly on his swing. The fish swims languid laps of his tank.
The baby sleeps soundly in his cot. The husband lays sprawled out on the bed, exhausted by his early morning yard work.
The wife decides they have the right idea.
